Banana Leaf Beads
Whoa, everything seems to be going green lately. Now it’s jewellery’s turn to go green. I’ve just stumbled across banana leaf beads. Made from the dried strips of banana leaf. These banana beads are hand rolled just like the more usual paper beads. You might ask how
come I’m now interested in beads? Well, although I can imagine a banana necklace looking good with a certain type of knitted garments, these particular beads are great for interior design. Curtains, textiles and ropes – they’d all go together with these. It’s all made in Africa by small sustainable communities. You can check them
here. Also have a look at their recycled beads. It is amazing what you can make from recycled paper and glass.
